Sahih narrations mention the Prophet ﷺ saying “Allāhumma ṣayyiban nāfiʿan” (“O Allah, a beneficial downpour”) when rain fell, showing joy and asking that it be beneficial The dua expresses love for Allah’s signs in nature and recognizes that even rain can be either mercy or trial, so we ask for its beneficial form.
It gently reconnects people to Allah’s control over weather and provision, turning a common event into an opportunity for gratitude and reflection.
