Duas for Parents

Rabbi-j‘al hadhal-balad aminan wajnubni wa baniyya an na‘budal-asnam

My Lord, make this land safe and keep me and my children away from idol worship.

Rabbi-j‘alni muqimas-salati wa min dhurriyyati rabbana wa taqabbal du‘a’

My Lord, make me one who establishes prayer, and also from my offspring. Our Lord, accept my supplication.

Rabbana-ghfir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu’minina yawma yaqumul-hisab

Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day the reckoning is established.

Rabbi-rhamhuma kama rabbayani saghira

My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small.

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a‘yunin waj‘alna lil-muttaqina imama

Our Lord, grant us comfort in our spouses and children, and make us leaders for the God-fearing.

Rabbi la tadharni fardan wa anta khayrul-warithin

My Lord, do not leave me alone, while You are the best of inheritors.

Uʿīdhukumā bi kalimāti Allāhi at-tāmmah, min kulli shayṭānin wa hāmmah, wa min kulli ʿaynin lāmmah.

I seek protection for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous creature, and from every harmful eye.

Rabbanā wajʿalnā muslimayni laka wa-min dhurriyyatinā ummatan muslimatan laka, wa-arinā manāsikanā wa-tub ʿalaynā, innaka anta at-tawwābu ar-raḥīm.

Our Lord, make us both submissive to You, and from our descendants a community submissive to You. Show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Rabbi awzi‘ni an ashkura ni‘mataka allati an‘amta ‘alayya wa ‘ala walidayya wa an a‘mala salihan tardahu wa adkhilni birahmatika fi ‘ibadikas-salihin

My Lord, inspire me to thank You for Your favour upon me and my parents, to do righteous deeds You accept, and admit me by Your mercy among Your righteous servants.

Rabbighfir lī wa liwālidayya wa liman dakhala baytiya mu’minan wa lil-mu’minīna wal-mu’mināt, wa lā tazidiẓ-ẓālimīna illā tabārā.

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.
