Both Abū Dāwūd and Tirmidhī record this wording and scholars such as al-Albānī graded it ḥasan; it is widely taught in authentic dhikr collections as the fix when “Bismillah” was forgotten at the start of a meal. Caution: This dua is only for when “Bismillah” was forgotten at the beginning, not a replacement for saying “Bismillah” from the start each time; avoid attributing specific rewards beyond what the hadith states.
