Background

This dua is taught in hadith as a supplication for anxiety and grief, asking Allah for His mercy, not to be left to oneself for even a blink, and for all affairs to be rectified. The wording appears in Abu Dawud and other collections and is included in Hisn al‑Muslim, showing the Prophet ﷺ directing distressed believers to articulate hope in Allah’s mercy and fear of being left to their own weaknesses.

Benefit

It reassures the heart that even when one feels overwhelmed or unstable, Allah’s mercy and care over every aspect of life are still available, and that we can ask not to be abandoned to our own poor judgment.
