سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ

Transliteration

Subḥāna alladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn, wa innā ilā rabbinā lamunqalibūn.

Translation

Glory be to the One who has subjected this to us, and we could not have controlled it; and indeed to our Lord we will return.

Enable Me to Be Grateful

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

Rabbi awzi‘ni an ashkura ni‘mataka allati an‘amta ‘alayya wa ‘ala walidayya wa an a‘mala salihan tardahu wa adkhilni birahmatika fi ‘ibadikas-salihin

My Lord, inspire me to thank You for Your favour upon me and my parents, to do righteous deeds You accept, and admit me by Your mercy among Your righteous servants.

Why this dua?

It encourages believers to see everyday incidents as reminders to thank Allah, ask for help in doing good, and seek an honorable place among the righteous.

Make Me Grateful and Reform My Offspring

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

Rabbi awziʿnī an ashkura niʿmataka allatī anʿamta ʿalayya wa-ʿalā wālidayya, wa-an aʿmala ṣāliḥan tarḍāh, wa-aṣliḥ lī fī dhurriyyatī. Innī tubtu ilayka wa-innī mina al-muslimīn.

My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for Your favor which You bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do righteous deeds that please You. Reform my offspring for me. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed I am of the Muslims.

رَبِّ أَنزِلْنِي مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنزِلِينَ

Rabbi anzilni munzalan mubarakan wa anta khayrul-munzilin

My Lord, grant me a blessed landing, for You are the best to settle and host.
