  1. 1

    ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ

    ʹAR-RAḤ-MAAN.

    The Most Merciful

  2. 2

    عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ

    ʻAllamal Q̣urʹaan.

    Taught the Qur’ān,

  3. 3

    خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ

    Khalaq̣al ʹiñsaan.

    Created man,

  4. 4

    عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ

    ʻAllamahul bayaan.

    [And] taught him eloquence.

  5. 5

    ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ

    ʹAshshamsu walq̣amaru biḥusbaan;

    The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,

  6. 6

    وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ

    Wannajmu washshajaru yasjudaan.

    And the stars and trees prostrate.

  7. 7

    وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ

    Was-Samaaaʹa rafaʻahaa wa-waḍaʻal Meezaan

    And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance

  8. 8

    أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ

    ʹAllaa taṭg̣aw fil meezaan.

    That you not transgress within the balance.

  9. 9

    وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ

    Wa-ʹaq̣eemul wazna bilq̣isṭi wa-laa tukhsirul meezaan.

    And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.

  10. 10

    وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ

    Wal-ʹarḍa waḍaʻahaa lilʹanaam:

    And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.

  11. 11

    فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ

    Feehaa faakihatuñw wan-nakhlu ẓaatul ʹakmaam;

    Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]

  12. 12

    وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ

    Walḥabbu ẓul ʻaṣfi war-rayḥaan.

    And grain having husks and scented plants.

  13. 13

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  14. 14

    خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ

    Khalaq̣al ʹiñsaana miñ ṣalṣaaliñ kalfakhkhaar,

    He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.

  15. 15

    وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ

    Wa-khalaq̣al Jaaanna mim maarijim min Naar:

    And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.

  16. 16

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  17. 17

    رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ

    Rabbul Mashriq̣ayni wa-rabbul Mag̣ribayn:

    [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.

  18. 18

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  19. 19

    مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ

    Marajal baḥrayni yaltaq̣iyaan:

    He released the two seas, meeting [one another];

  20. 20

    بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ

    Baynahumaa Barzakhul laa yabg̣iyaan:

    Between them is a barrier so neither of them transgresses.

  21. 21

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  22. 22

    يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ

    Yakhruju minhumal Luʹluʹu wal-Marjaan:

    From both of them emerge pearl and coral.

  23. 23

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  24. 24

    وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ

    Wa-lahul Jawaaril muñ-shaʹaaatu fil baḥri kal-ʹaʻlaam:

    And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.

  25. 25

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  26. 26

    كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ

    Kullu man ʻalayhaa faan:

    Everyone upon it [i.e., the earth] will perish,

  27. 27

    وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ

    Wa-yabq̣aa Wajhu Rabbika Ẓul Jalaali wal-ʹIkraam.

    And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.

  28. 28

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  29. 29

    يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ

    Yasʹaluhoo mañ fis samaawaati walarḍ: kulla Yawmin Huwa fee shaʹn!

    Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is in [i.e., bringing about] a matter.

  30. 30

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  31. 31

    سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ

    Sanafrug̣u lakum ʹayyuhas̤ s̤aq̣alaan!

    We will attend to you, O prominent beings.

  32. 32

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  33. 33

    يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ

    Yaa-Maʻsharal jinni wal-ʹiñsi ʹinis tataʻtum ʹañ tañfuẓoo min ʹaq̣ṭaaris samaawaati wal-ʹarḍi fañfuẓoo! laa- tañfuẓoona ʹillaa bisulṭaan!

    O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allāh].

  34. 34

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  35. 35

    يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ

    Yursalu ʻalaykumaa shuwaaz̤̣um min naariñwwa nuḥaasuñ falaa tañtaṣiraan;

    There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.

  36. 36

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  37. 37

    فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ

    Faʹiẓañ shaq̣q̣atis samaaaʹu fakaanat wardatañ kaddihaan:

    And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil -

  38. 38

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

  39. 39

    فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ

    Fayawmaʹiẓil laa yusʹalu ʻañ ẓambiheee ʹiñsuñw Walaa jaaann,―

    Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.

  40. 40

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  41. 41

    يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ

    Yuʻraful mujrimoona biseemaahum fayuʹkhaẓu binnawaaṣee wal-ʹaq̣daam.

    The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.

  42. 42

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  43. 43

    هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

    Haaẓihee Jahannamul latee yukaẓẓibu bihal mujrimoon;

    This is Hell, which the criminals deny.

  44. 44

    يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ

    Yaṭoofoona baynahaa wa-bayna ḥameemin ʹaan!

    They will circulate between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].

  45. 45

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  46. 46

    وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ

    Wa-liman khaafa maq̣aama Rabbihee Jannataan,―

    But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -

  47. 47

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

  48. 48

    ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ

    Ẓawaataaa ʹafnaan:―

    Having [spreading] branches.

  49. 49

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  50. 50

    فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ

    Feehimaa ʻaynaani tajriyaan:―

    In both of them are two springs, flowing.

  51. 51

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  52. 52

    فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ

    Feehimaa miñ kulli faakihatiñ zawjaan.

    In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.

  53. 53

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  54. 54

    مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ

    Muttakiʹeena ʻalaa furushim baṭaaaʹinuhaa min ʹistabraq̣: wa-janal jannatayni daan.

    [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.

  55. 55

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  56. 56

    فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ

    Feehinna q̣aaṣiraatuṭ ṭarfi lam yaṭmis̤hunna ʹiñsuñ q̣ablahum wa-laa jaaann;―

    In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinnī -

  57. 57

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

  58. 58

    كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ

    Kaʹannahunnal yaaq̣ootu wal-marjaan.

    As if they were rubies and coral.

  59. 59

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  60. 60

    هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ

    Hal Jazaaaʹul ʹIḥsaani ʹillal ʹIḥsaan?

    Is the reward for good [anything] but good?

  61. 61

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  62. 62

    وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ

    Wa-miñ doonihimaa Jannataan,―

    And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens -

  63. 63

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

  64. 64

    مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ

    Mudhaaammataan.

    Dark green [in color].

  65. 65

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  66. 66

    فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ

    Feehimaa ʻaynaani naḍ-ḍaakhataan:

    In both of them are two springs, spouting.

  67. 67

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  68. 68

    فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ

    Feehimaa faakihatuñw wanakhluñw warummaan:

    In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.

  69. 69

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  70. 70

    فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ

    Feehinna khayraatun ḥisaan;

    In them are good and beautiful women -

  71. 71

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

  72. 72

    حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ

    Ḥoorum maq̣ṣooraatuñ fil khiyaam;―

    Fair ones reserved in pavilions -

  73. 73

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

  74. 74

    لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ

    Lam yaṭmis̤hunna ʹiñsuñ q̣ablahum wa-laa jaaan;

    Untouched before them by man or jinnī -

  75. 75

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

  76. 76

    مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ

    Muttakiʹeena ʻalaa rafrafin khuḍriñw waʻabq̣ariyyin ḥisaan.

    Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.

  77. 77

    فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Fabiʹayyi ʹaalaaaʹi Rabbikumaa tukaẓẓibaan?

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

  78. 78

    تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ

    Tabaarak asmu Rabbika Ẓil Jalaali wal-ʹIkraam.

    Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
