Surah Al-Fatihah

Verse 1:1

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ ۟

Bismil lahir Raḥmaanir Ra-ḥeem

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

Verse 1:2

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ ۟ۙ

Al-Ḥamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ʻAalameen;

All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds,

Verse 1:3

الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ ۟ۙ

ʹAr-Raḥmaanir Raḥeem;

the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

Verse 1:4

مٰلِكِ یَوْمِ الدِّیْنِ ۟ؕ

Maaliki Yawmid Deen!

Master of the Day of Judgment.

Verse 1:5

اِیَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَاِیَّاكَ نَسْتَعِیْنُ ۟ؕ

ʹIyyaaka naʻbudu wa-ʹiyyaaka nastaʻeen.

You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help.

Verse 1:6

اِهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِیْمَ ۟ۙ

ʹIhdinaṣ Ṣiraaṭal Mustaq̣eem.

Guide us along the Straight Path,

Verse 1:7

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیْنَ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَیْهِمْ ۙ۬ۦ غَیْرِ الْمَغْضُوْبِ عَلَیْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّآلِّیْنَ ۟۠

Ṣiraaṭal laẓeena ʹanʻamta ʻalayhim G̣ayril mag̣ḍoobi ʻalayhim wa-laḍ ḍaaalleen.

the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray.
