Surah Al-Masad
Surah Al-Masad (The Palm Fiber) is Surah 111 of the Holy Quran, a Meccan Surah with 5 verses, available here in English.
Verse 111:1
تَبَّتْ یَدَاۤ اَبِیْ لَهَبٍ وَّتَبَّ ۟ؕ
Tabbat yadaaa ʹAbee Lahabiñw watabb!
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and he ˹himself˺ perish!
Verse 111:2
مَاۤ اَغْنٰی عَنْهُ مَالُهٗ وَمَا كَسَبَ ۟ؕ
Maaa ʹag̣naa ʻanhu maaluhoo wa-maa kasab.
Neither his wealth nor ˹worldly˺ gains will benefit him.
Verse 111:3
سَیَصْلٰی نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ۟ۚۖ
Sayaṣlaa Naarañ ẓaata lahab,
He will burn in a flaming Fire,
Verse 111:4
وَّامْرَاَتُهٗ ؕ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ ۟ۚ
Wamraʹatuh: ḥammaalatal ḥaṭab,
and ˹so will˺ his wife, the carrier of ˹thorny˺ kindling,
Verse 111:5
فِیْ جِیْدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّنْ مَّسَدٍ ۟۠
Fee jeedihaa ḥablum mim masad!
around her neck will be a rope of palm-fibre.
