Understand the dua
Background & benefit
Umm Salamah narrates that after Fajr the Prophet ﷺ would say a dua asking for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds. The supplication shows how the Prophet ﷺ began the day by asking not just for “knowledge” or “rizq” in general but for knowledge that benefits, provision that is wholesome, and actions that Allah accepts.
It guides a believer toward quality over quantity, steering them away from useless information, dubious income, and outward deeds lacking sincerity.
Recite after Fajr, or when asking Allah for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.
The narration reports that the Prophet ﷺ said this after Fajr. No separate fixed reward is mentioned in the cited report.
