Steadfastness of the Heart

Rabbana la tuzigh qulubana ba‘da idh hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmah innaka antal-Wahhab

Our Lord, do not let our hearts swerve after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. You are the Bestower.

Allāhumma-hdinī wa saddidnī, Allāhumma innī as'aluka-l-hudā wa-s-sadād.

O Allah, guide me and grant me firmness. O Allah, I beg You for guidance and firmness (on the straight path).

Allāhumma innī as’aluka ḥubbak, wa ḥubba man yuḥibbuk, wal-ʿamala lladhī yuballighunī ḥubbak. Allāhummajʿal ḥubbaka aḥabba ilayya min nafsī wa ahli wa minal-mā’i l-bārid.

“O Allah, I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and for the deeds that will cause me to attain Your love. O Allah, make Your love more beloved to me than myself, my family, and cold water.”

Allāhumma Rabba Jabrā’īla, wa Mīkā’īla, wa Isrāfīl, fāṭira-s-samāwāti wa-l-arḍ, ʿālima-l-ghaybi wa-sh-shahādah, Anta taḥkumu bayna ʿibādika fīmā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūn, ihdinī lima-khtulifa fīhi mina-l-ḥaqqi bi-idhnik, innaka tahdī man tashā’u ilā Ṣirāṭi-m-Mustaqīm.

O Allah, Lord of Jabrā’īl, Mīkā’īl and Isrāfīl, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and seen; You will judge between Your servants in what they used to differ. Guide me in what is contentious to the truth, by Your will. Indeed, You guide whomsoever You wish to a straight path.

Allāhumma alhimnī rushdī, wa aʿidhnī min sharri nafsī.

O Allah, inspire me with sound guidance and protect me from the evil of my self.

Allāhumma laka aslamtu wa bika āmant, wa ʿalayka tawakkaltu wa ilayka anabtu wa bika khaṣamt, Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bi-ʿizzatika lā ilāha illā Anta an tuḍillannī, Anta-l-Ḥayyu-l-ladhī lā yamūt, wa-l-jinnu wa-l-insu yamūtūn.

O Allah, to You Alone I submit, in You Alone I believe, upon You Alone I place my trust, to You Alone I turn repeatedly in repentance, and for You Alone I advocate. O Allah, I seek protection – with Your honour, there is no god worthy of worship except You – from misguidance. You are the Ever-Living who does not die, whereas the jinn and mankind die.
