Do Not Make Us a Trial for Those Who Disbelieve

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

Transliteration

Rabbanā lā tajʿalnā fitnatan lilladhīna kafarū, waghfir lanā rabbanā innaka antal-ʿazīzul-ḥakīm.

Translation

Our Lord, do not make us a trial for those who disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Background

This dua follows the example of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام and the believers with him, who relied upon Allah while separating themselves from disbelief and asking not to become a source of trial.
