Musa’s Dua for Forgiveness for Himself and His Brother

Rabbighfir lī wa liwālidayya wa liman dakhala baytiya mu’minan wa lil-mu’minīna wal-mu’mināt, wa lā tazidiẓ-ẓālimīna illā tabārā.

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.

Anta waliyyunā faghfir lanā warḥamnā wa anta khayrul-ghāfirīn.

You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers.

Rabbana-ghfir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu’minina yawma yaqumul-hisab

Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day the reckoning is established.

Rabbanā wajʿalnā muslimayni laka wa-min dhurriyyatinā ummatan muslimatan laka, wa-arinā manāsikanā wa-tub ʿalaynā, innaka anta at-tawwābu ar-raḥīm.

Our Lord, make us both submissive to You, and from our descendants a community submissive to You. Show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Rabbi hab lī min ladunka dhurriyyatan ṭayyibah, innaka samīʿu ad-duʿāʾ.

My Lord, grant me from Yourself good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.

Rabbi innī aʿūdhu bika an asʾalaka mā laysa lī bihi ʿilm, wa-illā taghfir lī wa-tarḥamnī akun mina al-khāsirīn.

My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking You for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be among the losers.
