Quran 38:35

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ

Transliteration

Rabbighfir lī wa hab lī mulkan lā yanbaghī li-aḥadin min baʿdī, innaka antal-wahhāb.

Translation

My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

Meaning and benefit

A dua that teaches believers to begin with forgiveness and to ask Allah for gifts, authority, and responsibility in a way that depends on Him.

Background

Prophet Sulaiman عليه السلام asked Allah for forgiveness and for a unique kingdom. The dua reflects repentance, ambition directed to Allah, and recognition that all gifts come from the Bestower.
