بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ، وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ

Transliteration

Bāraka llāhu laka, wa bāraka ʿalayka, wa jamaʿa baynakumā fī khayr.

Translation

“May Allah bless you, and shower blessings upon you, and join you two together in goodness.”

This is the established prophetic congratulatory dua for marriage and is widely graded authentic by hadith scholars. Caution: Avoid inventing extra phrases such as promises of specific worldly outcomes; stick to the concise wording the Prophet ﷺ used when congratulating someone on marriage.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ مُبَارَكًا عَلَيْهِ كَمَا يُحِبُّ رَبُّنَا وَيَرْضَى

Al-ḥamdu lillāhi ḥamdan kathīran ṭayyiban mubārakan fīhi, mubārakan ʿalayhi kamā yuḥibbu rabbunā wa yarḍā

All praise is for Allah: abundant, pure praise, blessed in it and blessed upon it, as our Lord loves and is pleased with.

Why this dua?

For praising Allah with abundant, pure and blessed praise, especially when expressing gratitude and humility before Allah.
