Virtue and context
Ali ibn Abi Talib (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) narrated that Fatimah (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanha) suffered from working the hand mill. When captives were brought to the Prophet ﷺ, she went hoping to request a servant but did not find him, so she told Aishah of her need. After Aishah informed him, the Prophet ﷺ visited Ali and Fatimah when they had already gone to bed. He told them to remain where they were and sat between them so closely that Ali felt the coolness of his feet against his chest.
The Prophet ﷺ offered to teach them something better than the servant they had requested: upon going to bed, they should say Allahu Akbar thirty-four times, Subhan Allah thirty-three times, and Alhamdulillah thirty-three times. He ﷺ told them that this remembrance was better for them than a servant.
